Long Dorje is not a record holder, but he managed climbing Mount Everest well over 10 times which secures him a place among the first to achieve this.
Born around 1969 he is one of the countless Sherpa who care for clients all day. According to my understanding he was on the mountain during the incidents 1996, know by the book “Thin Air”.
In interviews he said that he had little chance of doing something else then mountaineering, because he needed to care for his parents. His brothers apparently did study and live in New York City today.
Currently I am trying to reach him in order to verify what he is doing.
