These canvases are driven by the painting process and the preoccupation with painting materials. The surroundings are outdoors and indoors which forced attention to painting the shadows of the persons.
The first pictures that show human beings and their encounters result from the years 2003 to 2005. The ambient architecture still was an influential subject. The protagonists are not shown in close-up, but the context is put in the foreground.
