The South Col of Mount Everest is the highest Col one could imaginge. Almost 8.000 meters high it is the lowest point between Mount Everest and Lhotse, the highest and the fourth highest mountain of the world.

It is also the location of the last camp of almost all climbers approaching Mount Everest from the south – despite heavy winds and bad weather. Like its counterpart on the north, it looks like a hotel!
