The series “Top of the World” is subject to two articles which recently have been published.
AOL news wrote about Ill-Fated Everest Climbers while explorers web titled the article Painting the soul of Everest. I would like to comment, that I also portraited climbers who successfully summited without any problem as to my knowledge.
Lincoln Hall *1956
Lincoln Hall (born in 1956) is an Australian Climber who was rescued from Mount Everest after summiting. His case became famous because he survived a night alone on the mountain and also, because he was rescued, while David Sharp died some days earlier being in similar circumstances.
Usha Bista *1985
Usha Bista (born in 1985) is a Nepali women who almost died on Mount Everest. She was saved by other mountaineers after others have left her.

This series shows a mountain by describing its coldness, steepness, scantiness – its extremes by painting. The heavy exposure the mountain experiences in the public leads to a challenging tourism for both – nature and people.
Almost unreal personal relations or “none-relations” become apparent with intensive studies of the subject. On the following pages some of them are highlighted.
David Sharp *1972 +2006
David Sharp (15 February 1972 – 15 May 2006) was an English mountaineer who died near the summit of Mount Everest after possibly reaching the summit of Mount Everest on his third attempt. His death caused controversy and debate, because he was passed by a number of other climbers heading to and returning from the summit.
