Every three years County Mettmann calls for entries to an exhibition of art which was produced recently within the area. In 2008 Jürgen H. Stäudtner was selected to participate among other artist from over 170 applicants to exhibit on the 22nd Kreiskunstausstellung Mettmann.
A series of professional artists lives in Mettmann, which is located close to Düsseldorf, with its over 1000 artists working there. County Mettmann is also the most densly populated County in Germany and one of the largest.
